چکیده
Abstract: Aim/Background: Osteosarcoma is one of the prevalent cancers occurring mostly in adolescents and has a high risk malignancy. With complications involved current treatment strategies, alternates including use phytochemicals have gained fame. Cranberries are known for their exceptional health benefits been explored effective activities various cancers. The study aimed at evaluating anti-cancer properties cranberry juice concentrate (CJC) on MG-63 cell line human osteosarcoma, by investigating its apoptotic activity through changes viability mitochondrial membrane potential. Materials Methods: Cranberry was obtained pulverization lyophilization. cells were treated with 12.5-800 μg/mL CJC incubated 24, 48, 72 hr. percentage IC50 values obtained. potential nuclear examined. induction apoptosis studied flow cytometer using BD Quest 7.5.3 software. GraphPad Prism used statistical analysis significant p-value <0.05. Results: 847.9, 637.4, 440.6 hr respectively. Change morphology observed following incubation CJC. Flow cytometric shows detected early late apoptoic stages after Conclusion: Our result suggests that effects osteosarcoma can be considered to supplement conventional therapeutic strategies. Keywords: Apoptosis, Cranberry, MG-63, Osteosarcoma, Phytochemicals.

Evaluation of cytotoxic and apoptotic effects of simvastatin in Bone Cancer Cell line (MG-63)
Background & aim: Cancer is a disharmony amongst cell growth and death which results in accumulation of cells. Bone cancer is an absolutely dangerous type of cancer and occurs when the bone-making cells are disrupted. Despite some reports on the anticancer effects of simvastatin, the activity of simvastatin on bone cancer cells has not been reported. The aim of this study was to evaluate the cy...
متن کاملSerum Factors Induced the Nuclear Location of Annexin V in the Human Osteosarcoma Cell Line (MG-63)
Calcium-binding proteins play essential roles in the cell. One important class of calcium-binding proteins is the annexin family. This is a family of 13 proteins, which binds to phospholipids in a calcium-dependent manner. Osteosarcoma cell line (MG-63) is a transformed cell that has many characteristics of the differentiated cell, such as a considerable serum dependency in its growth rate. Usi...
متن کاملAnticancer properties of chitosan against osteosarcoma, breast cancer and cervical cancer cell lines
Background: Cancer refers to the abnormal growth of cells and is still the most common cause of morbidity in world. The purpose of this study was to determine cytotoxicity effect of high molecular weight (HMWC) and low molecular weight of chitosan (LMWC) on three cancerous cell lines MCF-7, HeLa and Saos-2 with different histological origin. Methods: The anticancer property of two types of chi...

15 صفحه اولCharacterization of osteosarcoma cell lines MG-63, Saos-2 and U-2 OS in comparison to human osteoblasts.
BACKGROUND Osteosarcomas are malignant bone tumors consisting of cells with abnormal cellular functions. Although osteosarcoma-derived cells are commonly used for osteoblastic models, the molecular composition of the osteosarcoma extracellular matrix (ECM) is not well characterized. MATERIALS AND METHODS We compared three osteosarcoma cell lines (MG-63, Saos-2 and U-2 OS) with normal human os...
